Each inventory area will need a group of 5-6 or more to complete the inventory work on a regular basis. This will ensure that we can get all the information pulled together even if only some of the members can make it out each time. The five Themes and their associated Captains, back-ups and interested members so far include:

Download the asset mapping here:

1. Mobility (includes all areas and transportation modes of getting around in the neighbourhood) – Darryn Striga (captain), Jim (back-up), Ted (member)

2. Safety & Security – Lyle (captain), Jim (back-up), Zoie (member), Ted (member)

3. Urban Blight – Brian (captain), Eric (member)

4. Assets & Liabilities – Morgan (captain), Zoie (back-up), Carol (member)

5. Opportunities – no captain so far, Brian (member), Ted (member).

Ross will let us know when we can get the follow-up training completed for the 5 areas. Anyone interested in participating in this very important part of the planning process can be involved in one or more of the theme areas. If you want to know more about a particular area we can go over the information with you.

We have confirmed the East meeting room at the bowling alley as a storefront location for the planning activities. Ian has generously allowed us to use the site for $100/month to help cover utilities.

I met with Kevin from Grant Signs today and they are preparing decals for the windows to identify the location. We will need to get some tables and chairs, etc. into the room. Ross is working on planning materials for the storefront as well. We will need to try and have the doors open for at least a few hours a week once we have materials on site. IF we can get a rotation of volunteers to be available, even if you bring your laptop and work there or just sit and have a coffee to invite people in to chat that would be helpful.

Discussion at the meeting on the 18th also included the perception around the perceived “political” nature of the Campbellton First! name. As a result we agreed that the planning office and inclusive activities (BBQ opening, etc.) would be under the Campbellton Neighbourhood Association name, while our other activities can continue under Campbellton First!. Hopefully this minor adjustment will bring more community members into the process.
